No Bubbles for Isaac

Isaac is 21 months old and afraid of bubbles. I guess I had never given him a bubble bath. Not that I am against giving bubble baths but I have always used organic soaps for him and since it's more expensive, I couldn't see throwing money down the drain (ha!) using it for a bubble bath since it takes so much to make bubbles. Yes, I am extremely conservative. I have had these soaps since he was born since I use it so sparingly! Anyhow, last night I decided that using the other bubble bath stuff in the bathroom wouldn't hurt (just once) so I made a nice warm bubble bath for him. At first he seemed very interested in them and he was playing with them. Next I put some bubbles in my hand and blew them...he did NOT like that...he was so scared, he screamed and cried. I took him out, calmed him down, drained the tub and started all over again...this time no bubbles. He was happy. He actually learned the word "bubble" in the process, so that was good! We'll try the bubble bath again some other time!

Today I went to our Mommy Bible Study. When I picked Isaac up, the ladies that were working in the nursery said that they think it's time for Isaac to have a sibling (I totally agree)...they said he was going around to all the other children and giving them hugs and kisses...What a sweet boy!

A Special Gift

I cannot believe that I have yet to write anything about our wonderful Christmas this past year. I guess for one, I was so busy with making coasters for my friends (which I am very grateful...thank you!) that all my "free-time" was spent getting those done in time for Christmas and in the process I got out of the habit of keeping up with my blog and now that I have some time every thing's so out of order...I don't know where to begin! For two, my sister has yet to email me her pictures that she took on Christmas day since she was the official photographer, so I really don't have any pictures to go along with my story. Oh, and I got this awesome video camera...it's actually a Flip Video...that I took plenty of videos of our Christmas with, however, I need to get with my friend Kelly so that she can show me how to do upload my videos on here (again)!

On Christmas morning we attempted to drive to my parents house to celebrate Christmas with them before Tyler and Chloe had to be at their mom's, however, we got stuck...really stuck...for a long time until a nice farmer saw us and got in his tractor to got us "un-stuck". By the time that was over, we decided it would be best to just take Tyler & Chloe back. After we dropped them off, the 3 of us ventured out to my parents. It was a very nice celebration, but Tyler and Chloe were missed. I felt pretty bad for my mom though, she really went all out to make it special for them and I know she was very disappointed that they weren't able to be there.

She drew pictures of Isaac, Tyler and Chloe (see below) and made some pretty amazing stockings for them. She also made this plain table into an awesome train table for Thomas the Train for Isaac.

Tomorrow night will be the first time we get Tyler & Chloe since Christmas and our plan is to celebrate it with my family (weather permitting, again)...

Isaac and Daddy

I asked Chad if he would put Isaac to sleep tonight so that I can clean the kitchen and catch up on some things (including my blog). It's never a quick process to put Isaac to sleep, usually Chad reads 7 to 10 books then I come in and rock him and sing him to sleep. Last night I went in there and woke Isaac up right as he was falling asleep so tonight I thought I'd stay out of the room. Well, Chad was in there for well over an hour so I thought I'd quietly check on them and this is how I found them. Sound asleep on the floor listening to his cd...how precious!

I thank God for my husband and my Isaac!

Catching Up

During the month of December, while I wasn't writing in my blog...we had some visitors. My Uncle Lenny, Uncle Bill & Aunt Jane & my cousin William.

My cousin William came for a nice visit.
Isaac...turning into a little boy!

I am not sure what it's for but I think she uses it to make soap. Yes, my mom does everything!
Also this month our dog Narni had to be put to sleep. I got Narni as a gift for my 16th birthday but she quickly turned into our "family dog" and lived with my parents most of her life. There is so much to write about her that I've been trying to do so in another post but just haven't finished yet. She was an amazing dog and we miss her so much!

Christmas Haiku

Last year we started a little "family tradition" thanks to Chad. Every couple writes a haiku poem (A haiku poem is a form of japanese poetry consisting of 17 syllables in 3 metrical phrases of 5, 7, 5) for each family member, along with a hand-made card. My hand-made cards usually consist of blank notecards and 3-D Christmas stickers on the front. Simple, but cute! This year Danielle and Chad (her boyfriend) really out did themselves. The cards were enormous and the poems were great. Below is a picture of Chad (my Chad) & I holding our poems.
